Description

National park Kornati includes most of the Kornati islands group in central Dalmatia, west of the cit of Šibenik. It was declared as a National park in 1980 and put under protection. Total surface of the park is cca. 220 square kilometers, and it includes 8 islands, islets and cliffs, but only 1/4 of the park is land, the rest is sea ecosystem.

Kornati islands are rich in natural and cultural features. Vertical cliffs - "crowns" of the Kornati islands facing the open sea, are the most popular phenomenon of this park, and are in its full beauty during the summer.
